Winter Nights blog hop

There’s a chill in the air so it must be time to cuddle up with a book.  Welcome to the Hot Winter Nights Blog Hop

I”m the first to admit winter isn’t my favorite time of year. There’s very little l like about winter. I don’t do ‘winter’ activities like ice skating, skiing, snow shoeing, or snowmobiling.  BUT I do cook…A LOT.  Cooking is one of the passions in my life (besides writing). Another winter provides is holidays. The ideal time to do some “family” cooking.  It has been a long standing family tradition that we make extra-large cookie trays to give to family friends, church members, neighbors, and anyone else we thought could use some ‘cheer’.  Now Christmas would be a one of major cookie baking times but we also made cookies for President’s Day, Valentines, and ground hogs day, (you get the idea). My kids would pick two or three cookies/bars/brownies/candy they liked or would wanted to try.  We’d sit drinking hot cocoa thumbing through magazines or cook books coming up a list of things we wanted to try or repeat. So while I hate winter, it offers some of the best family memories I have.

In Ticket to Love. Isabella is orphaned at a very young age and has never really known a family life. When she travels out to Colorado to marry Samuel, she has no idea what to expect. Samuel was a Texas Ranger and had tried love once – only to have his heart stomped on. They need to make some good memories. Yet, things don’t get off to a good start, they will need to work out some things.  Ticket to Love is a sweet romance about learning to trust and love even when everything seems to be telling you not.

For my blog hop prize, I’ll be giving away 2 ‘cuddle & read’ packages. They include flavored hot cocoa, candy kisses, and a package of gingerbread Oreos.  Leave me comment that includes your e-mail address to be entered in the drawing for my prize AND the blog hop Grand Prize of a $50 Amazon Gift Card – $10 Bookstrand Bucks – eBook prize package including:  11 eBooks.

  2. Gingerbread Oreos? I haven’t heard of them but they sound great. I am challenged when it comes to doing anything in the kitchen and rarely get anything homemade so I feel like your friends and church members are very, very blessed! My future mother in law does make some amazing homemade desserts on the holidays however so I am not completely deprived.

Thanks so much for the great giveaway and being a part of this amazing hop.

    Happy Holidays,

  4. I love gingerbread. I am a fan of winter, but where we live now, it is kind of hit or miss whether we get cold or snow. Love all the sights and sounds of the holiday season.

  5. I’m one of those odd balls that loves cold weather. I also really like snow (although I’m not crazy about driving in it.) Thanks for the giveaway!

  6. I have to agree with you on the whole cold thing. One of the many reasons that I moved to Florida. 😉
I always have intentions on doing cookies, but never get around to it. I think it is a wonderful activity to do with your children. I always think that I will eat them and that is not good for my figure. Lol. I enjoyed the blurb of your book. I will be checking it out.
Thank you for the wonderful giveaway!

  9. Any excuse for trays of cookies sounds like a good idea to me! I really like winter baking as, unlike summer, the kitchen is cozy instead of oppressively hot. Plus sitting by the fire with a mug of something warm, a hot pie of pie and a good book is perfect.

  10. I love to snuggle with the honey and babies (the dogs) by the fire place and hang out.

  11. Ticket to Love sounds like a great book! I’m adding it to my TBRs. I sometimes miss the cold winters I used to have while living in NJ. But since moving here to sunny SW FL, I’m really liking the sun shining, wearing long pants & maybe a sweatshirt only a few weeks out of the year & NOT having to shovel snow.

  12. Oooh flavored cocoa! You’ve got my attention. I live in a cold state and I’m not much of a fan of winter either. I do like the snow, it makes everything pretty, but I don’t like to drive in it. About the only thing winter is good for, for me is cuddling with the husband.

  13. Great blog hop! Thanks for the chance to win. I love snuggling with my significant other on the couch in front of a fire on cold winter nights.

  14. I like to stay warm by snuggling underneath a blanket and reading a good romance book! Thanks for the awesome hop and giveaway! Best wishes and many blessings to you and yours!

  15. Me and cold weather doesn’t mix. I always get depressed and snappy. Peeps say I have that winter blues depression. But to get warm I make hot chocolate with real milk, green tea or irish breakfast tea. Then I use my electric blanket

  16. A hot winter night to me is either sitting by the fire snuggling under a soft comfy throw just talking or watching a movie with the love of your life! You can’t ask for anything better.

Thanks for the opportunity to share, explore your site and perhaps snag new books to read.

  17. Thanks for participating. I enjoy some winter activities, but baking during the winter sounds nice too. I’m not much of a cooker, but it is a good winter activity. Thanks! katieamanda1(at)yahoo(dot)com

  18. I think I was born old because the perfect evening involves a warm bath, fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, hot chocolate, and a steamy book.
