Here’s another one of favorite recipes that can twisted to fit any craving. Candy bar brownies. Brownies are one of ‘go to’ foods so I’ve made these hundreds of time and they are always great. The recipe has Snicker or Milky Way candy bars listed but I’ve used Almond Joy, Peanut butter cups, and peppermint patties.
If I don’t have time to make the frosting or I’m not in the mood or I don’t want a peanut butter topping, I sprinkle the chopped candy bars on top of the hot brownies. They semi-melt – yummy!
2 (8″ x 8″) boxes brownie mix
2/3 cup oil
2/3 cup water
12 ounces Snicker or Milky Way candy bars, chopped
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips or 12 ounces chocolate candy bars
1/2 cup peanut butter
10 ounces Snicker or Milky Way candy bars, chopped
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 13″ x 9″ pan with nonstick baking spray containing flour; set aside. In large bowl, combine both boxes of brownie mix, oil, water, and eggs; mix until blended. Stir in first amount of chopped candy bars. Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 35-45 minutes or until brownies are set and crust is shiny. Cool for 30 minutes.
In medium bowl, combine chocolate chips and peanut butter. Microwave on high for 1 minute; remove and stir. Continue microwaving for 30 second intervals, stirring after each interval, until mixture is smooth. Stir in second batch of chopped candy and spoon and spread over warm brownies. Let stand until set; cut into bars.
