AND NOW FOR A CLOSE-UP…The Demon Tales have had a shake up, a rejig and been given a whole new, shiny lo0k!

A word from Kerrianne ….

I did this because I felt they needed a polish, and I believe a new era, needs a new look!

My writing has grown and evolved since I first wrote Beauty and the Beast 7 years ago, and I wanted to breathe some fresh air into their stories. So, while you may not see all characters you once read about yet – you will, but they will have fresh books! (All coming soon)

Thank you for waiting so patiently for the Demons to return. I will be eternally grateful to all who read the original series. I hope you enjoy my changes.

If you are a new reader, Hi! 😉

My Demon Tales are sexy, dark and twisted versions of recognizable fairy tales. They are full of action, intrigue and HOT SEXY males. My females are strong and forceful – not meek and defenseless. And I hope you learn to love them as much as I do.

I hope you enjoy Deadly Slumber.

Much love.

Feature Friday

In case you missed yesterday’s Drum Roll – it was for Stay by Jennifer Silverwood. Today, she is my feature author.

Jennifer Silverwood

Jennifer Silverwood

> What inspired you to write your first book? And at what age?

I don’t know if this counts as a first novel, but when I was nine I started writing a series of short stories about kids lost in space. Super original, I know. But at the time I felt like it was perfectly reasonable to for kids to survive on a wild alien planet without going “Lord of the Flies.” I grew up on old school sci-fi movies, thanks to my older parents and then, teenage siblings and that is why I wrote the “Nuke Valley” series. And also why I began my professional writing career with the “Heaven’s Edge” novellas.

> Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

Stay is about losing faith and hope in love. But it’s mostly about finding it again, about second chances. In the most humbling review my books have received, a reader said that Stay, “motivates me to have hope that maybe true love it real.” My hope is that others will likewise be inspired and encouraged to believe again.

> What books have most influenced your life most?

L.M Montgomery, author of “Anne of Green Gables,” probably influenced my writing and life the most. An early feminist and rebel herself in a Victorian culture, Louisa wrote such strong female characters. Many of her stories were filled with lost loves and second chances. And I found myself wanting to see the world as she did, to paint words in a way that inspires other people.

> What are your current projects?

At the moment I’m working on the sequel to Stay. I didn’t start out planning a sequel to this stand-alone. Until the day I started writing the story of Rona’s daughter. I’m also writing a novella in-between for my fantasy series, “Vynasha”. But more on that title later.

> Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it?

I took away an answer to my own question while writing “Stay.” I had come to a point where I didn’t believe in love anymore. I wasn’t sure what choice Rona was going to make. In the end I found out I wanted my second chance too. 🙂

Rona believes love is nothing more than a myth, a tale for little girls. Until the immortal ruler of the seas appears from thin air and she is swept into a dark and dangerous affair, turning myth into a grave reality.
Commanded to work as the savior of true love, Rona realizes that love is just an illusion as grandiose as magic and after two thousand years, she is ready to give up. Until the night a human, deep in the underbelly of the city that never sleeps, sees her. She recognizes him instantly, a lost love. Trouble is, he has no memory of her.
Tasked with mending a relationship between the love she lost thousands of years ago and another woman, Rona will have to learn what it means to be human all over again when past and present collide.
Can love transcend time or will Rona be forced to roam the earth alone, forever?

STAY by Jennifer Silverwood
April 28th – May 9th, 2014

4Word Press Publishing and Gliterary Girl are proud to present the release of Jennifer Silverwood’s STAY.

Before the awesome excerpt here is a little bit about Jennifer…

Everyone has to begin somewhere. I began my journey to becoming an author long before I published anything. Storytelling was something I did every night before bed with my father. We would create such wonderful tales together, far better than anything in books. It sprung from our imaginations. My mother ingrained a love for the written world early on. Then my grandpa gave me his first typewriter when I was in elementary school. You can guess the rest.

But it was many years later, after dabbling in all the arts, that I realized writing was my greatest passion. I grew up on the far outskirts of the Metroplex of Texas, a busy world of cities within cities. It’s easy to get lost in a place like this. Some might argue that Dallas is the “New York” of the south and I might agree. Rather than worry about being a little fish in a big pond, however, I made up my mind long ago to follow my dreams. The funny thing about dreams is they have a tendency to come to life in unexpected ways.

My best friends were my twin next-door neighbors. (Inspiration for the three main ladies in Silver Hollow) We made up our own little book club, complete with readings and brainstorming sessions. I loved reading to them and they loved “the story,” as we dubbed whatever project we were working on. As we grew up and went on to different careers and schools, and I tried three different universities. Needless to say, college didn’t pan out well for me. So I did the next sensible thing and decided to write “for real.”

He glanced down at me briefly before plugging his keys into the lock. “Sorry my
place ain’t much to look at.”

A single dim glow came from a nearby glass case. After flipping on the lights, he
turned and shut the door with one hand, bracing me to him with the other. I wrapped my arms about his neck and rested my forehead on his chest. For one stolen moment I imagined I was human again, my curse broken. But the compulsion of
my new mission fell like a brass weight about my neck. Behind my closed lids I could still see Lissa’s emerald eyes as she stole a glance at Cain. I remembered his longing for her.

“Sorry ’bout the mess,” he said as his chest vibrated beneath my face. “Wasn’t
expecting company.”

He swept aside a stack of papers before he set me to rest on an old couch. His
home was small and sparse. An antique table sat in front of the couch, covered with more papers, books and empty cans. Workout equipment covered one corner of his living room. Past this was something I had not thought to see again. The stereo was long and tall, and the turntable open and ready for a fresh record.

When I turned to search for the kitchen my eyes met a pair of long, jean-clad legs
and traveled up their length to his belt and tucked-in black shirt. He popped his knuckles repeatedly into his palm and shifted from one foot to the other. Again I could feel his nervousness through the link that connected him and Lissa to me.
Keeping my head bowed low, I noticed he had already pulled off his leather
jacket and scarf.

When he noticed my scrutiny he tugged the cap roughly off his short-cropped
inky black hair and began wringing it in his hands. “So…” he began, clearing his throat, and attempted a smile. “I was thinking I could pull out the couch for you tonight. It’s already got sheets on it, can’t promise how fresh though.” Shifting on his feet again, he peered into the depths of my cloak and waited for an answer.

“Yes,” I replied. I could hear my accent despite the rasp of my throat when I
spoke. It summoned distant memories of a language and people long dead, of boats and fish and the sweet salty sea.

Cain nodded to himself and glanced at the howl of the storm raging outside his
window. “Looks like it’s gonna be a bad one this time. They say we haven’t had a winter like this in years.”

“I know.”

“Well,” he said after an awkward pause, “don’t worry. I already stocked up on
supplies, so we should be good if it decides to hold out. Do you, ah, wanna borrow one of my shirts?” He gestured to the silvery blue skirts peeking from beneath my gray cloak.

“Thank you,” I replied, though I was not sure it was a wise decision, since I
seemed so off balance.

With a thoughtful smile on his lips he nodded and disappeared through the open
door. From the flats around us babies cried, couples fought and screamed threats, others held silent in fear of the coming storm.

I removed my cloak, stood and carefully folded it until it slid into the pocket of
my tunic. Gooseflesh rose on my arms as the chilled air rested on my skin. Cain had been right; it was cold, but not as much as the city beyond that window.

“Here you—go.” Cain began confidently and then stuttered.

I twirled around at the sound of his voice, my waist-length curls shifting in spite
of the many intricate braids I had woven them into. Our eyes met, locked and seemed to graze together in a force swift as the tide. Cain’s jaw clenched as he strained against some fierce emotion. Yet when he breathed it was as though coming up for air again.

I stood, closing the space between us, and said, “Thank you.”

Our fingers brushed as he handed over the heavy woolen fabric. I watched his
pupil overcome its iris, only to once more be consumed by rich indigo.

“Added some sweats and socks, since you’ll probably get cold,” he offered. “Not
like I have a lot to cover you up with, since this ain’t the Ritz.” Shoving his hands in his pockets, he tore his eyes away and glared at the floor. “You can change in my bathroom. It’s through that door and on the right.”

I listened to the pounding of his heart as I passed.

Drum Roll….

Happy Friday! I’m so excited to have a sneak peak of Cate Master’s new book due out April 11 (so make sure to mark your calendars) for my feature Friday.
Isn’t the cover amazing????

Meilin and The Challenger
Futuristic urban fantasy/fairy tale
73 pages
April 11, 2014 from
Musa Publishing:

Meilin King has never believed in fairy tales. Happy ever afters might have happened in the old days—before zombies. But this is 2089. When her father promises riches to the one who can rid their city of zombies, Meilin and her sisters rush to develop a solution that won’t bankrupt Dad.
The war overseas left Will MacGregor disillusioned, but fighting zombies at home is a cause he can embrace. Meilin’s another. Tough but sweet, she might make him believe in life again, and maybe even love, if she doesn’t kick his ass first.
When zombies kidnap her family, Meilin must rescue them. But can she and Will save them from the worst fate of all?

Sounds great, huh? And just to tease you a little more here is a ….

A click sounded beside him. Meilin propped a rifle to her shoulder and sighted her aim toward the advancing zombies. “Let’s annihilate the party crashers, sisters.”
A lopsided smile quirked his lips. “Not all the party crashers, I hope.”
Her stance steady, she glanced over. “I might spare you.”
Oh hell, I’m in love. Gunfire erupted on either side, but he couldn’t tear his focus from her. Amazing, how she braced against the kick of the rifle—her slight frame absorbed it and she fired away. Like you should be doing.
As trained, he lifted the Uzi. Stunned, he could only watch as the girls split the zombies’ heads with one shot apiece, the most efficient kill he’d ever witnessed. The zombies at the front of the charge fell first. Those in the center scattered to either side. Hell, these women didn’t need his help. If only the soldiers in his platoon had been so deadly accurate.
Better at least try to be helpful. He let the bullets fly. Too bad the walking dead couldn’t run; soon they dropped to the forest floor with the others.
The tallest blonde held a strange set of binoculars to her face. “There, two more getting away.”
Hard to sight them in the dark. He swiveled one of the dance floor spotlights in their direction. Momentarily blinded, the walking dead stopped walking. Meilin and the tall blonde aimed, and their shots cracked the zombies’ heads in two.
Meilin tapped his shoulder. “Aim the light to three o’clock. I think I see a few more.”
She stood so close, he grew woozy. Cherry blossoms. He struggled to fight off her intoxicating scent. He did as she asked, but his acute awareness centered on her. Built the way he liked, petite but powerful. She moved with purpose and grace, surety and intense focus in every action. Like the others, she felled the three zombies with one shot each, in exactly the spot needed for the final kill: their heads. Oh yeah, a woman who knew what she wanted and went after it, a force to be reckoned with.
She rested the rifle butt against her hip. “What do you think, Lakshme? More hiding out there?”
The girl with almond eyes shrugged. “Probably.”
Yeah, most likely. Better make sure. “I’ll do a sweep and check.”
The tallest blonde winced. “By yourself?”
Lakshme smirked. “Aren’t we lucky? Superman’s here.”
Meilin’s gaze swept over him. “Oh, I thought he was the Green Hornet.”
The blonde’s lip curled. “Horn dog, more like.”
What the hell was their problem? “Hey, I’m only trying to help.”
“Good thing.” Lakshme’s voice turned breathy. “We’re helpless girls, after all.”
Oh, man. Great first impression. “No, I didn’t—”
Meilin raised her rifle and shot three times in quick succession. “Three more down. Now we need to find out how many we missed.”
A no-nonsense babe. Excellent.
The tall blonde jumped to the ground. “Pull up the truck so we can dump the bodies. Wouldn’t want to ruin the surprise for any latecomers.” She flashed a sardonic smile and headed for the nearest carcass.
One sister disappeared into the brush. An engine roared, and a delivery truck backed into the site, halted, and the doors flew open.
Once they’d loaded the last of the zombie bodies, Will blew out a breath. The tall blonde latched the door closed. How did they all still appear ready freshly showered and ready for a night of dancing? They had this routine down, to the last detail.
“What now?” he asked.
The tall blonde poked a finger into his chest. “Now you forget everything you saw here, and we won’t have to incinerate you with the rest of them.”
Forget? He glanced at Meilin. Not happening. “You might find me useful. And I want to learn more about your operation. It’s impressive. Mr. King’s looking to hire—”
The blonde grabbed his shirt, her grimace eye level with him. “Don’t ever mention him again.”
Not speak of their father? He studied Meilin for a clue.
She wrenched the blonde’s arm. “Back off, Zoe. He’s harmless.”
Zoe shoved Meilin, who stumbled backward and lost her balance.
Landing on her butt, she looked up at Will with sadness. “Sorry.”
His heart lurched. Hopefully, not sorry she met him. “For what?”
A hard thud to the back of his head came in answer. His knees hit the dance floor, and he toppled over.

Drum Roll….

I’m so excited this week to featured Kathleen Ann Gallagher for a cover reveal for Night Magic (available in April). She is also offering a $10.00 Amazon gift card so don’t forget to enter the rafflecopter at the end.

First a little bit about Kathleen…

543778_561304280570752_1032586160_n (1)

Although writing is my passion, nursing is my vocation.  I work in an emergency room, and it’s been challenging, and rewarding, to be such an integral part of so many other’s daily struggles.  I have a wonderful husband who always offers his support, and never complains about my crazy schedule. One of our favorite romantic getaways is Cape May, New Jersey, an old historic beach town where we take a step into the past, and enjoy life’s simple pleasures.  Although my children are all grown with busy lives of their own, Chaz, our Shepherd mix, and Luc our Coton deTulear bring us joy and unconditional love.  We are also blessed with three adorable grandsons. Other interests of mine include cooking, reading, and the theater.  However, spending time with my family is most important to me.  Even though my life is filled with work, family, etc., my mind continues to ponder the next story or concept for a new novel.

You can find Kathleen here. She loves to meet readers and make new friends.

Night Magic Blurb

The beautiful, but lonely owner of a bath & body shop, Krista Winters, is in need of legal counsel. Her past is about to catch up with her.  She was forced to flee from her life as a teacher in New Jersey after she was let go when the principal found out she was a witch.

Life is not the same for Jon Bartolo. He’s a dedicated lawyer, living in the town of Conway, New Hampshire. His days are spent helping his clients with their struggles and his nights are spent in agony, lost in a world between life and death.

His mother who died three years ago, lurks in his house, suffering from a curse for eternity, without a resting place.

A smoldering fire between Jon and Krista ignites almost immediately, however he’s sure his secret would frighten a woman away. An afternoon escape brings them closer, but doubts lingers between the love-struck couple.

A touch of Night Magic might be exactly what Jon needs. How will his mother find eternal rest, so he can move on with his life? Or is he bound to a live of hell on earth?

Will Krista fit into his world when he learns about her past?  Or is she hiding a bigger secret?

Kathleen has also proved an unedited excerpt ….

A woman knows when a man is about to make a move. A rippling feeling waved across her chest. Jon kept his eyes on her, stood and came from around his desk. When he got close enough for Krista to get a whiff of his tempting, earthy cologne, a warm sensation caught her off guard and her ears rang so bad her head spun.

Before she realized what had happened, he slipped his hand around her back and pulled her up against his chest. Tunnel vision altered all perception of reality and she closed her eyes. Jon’s touch aroused her mercifully. Her panties moistened and her nipples tingled, and she felt like she was in another world. Who was this man? How did he capture her heart in an instant? His strong hands cupped her butt cheeks as if he owned her body and soul. There wasn’t time to react.

His caresses brought her to a place she had longed for. When Jon covered her mouth with his lips it didn’t matter if they were strangers. It felt right. A quiet echo and a brightness filled the room as if the goddess of love shined light upon them. The connection felt so strong it practically knocked her over.

Steadying herself, Krista stood back and stared into his eyes. As Jon moved in again and plunged his tongue reached deep into her mouth, he lightly brushed his hand across the back of her hair, and Krista surrendered to his touch. It was as if a long lost lover had reappeared and claimed her heart’s desire. There was no telling what might happen next. Krista’s body quivered and she quietly moaned with pleasure, as he nuzzled her ear, teasing her with playful nips at her neck. All rules had been broken, but it didn’t matter. His hard shaft rubbed up against her stomach, and she swayed back and forth, unable to break away from temptation. Jon’s breathing sped up and with his strong arms tight around her back. Every movement taking her one step closer. Am I that lonely? I’m about to have sex with a man I just met. As his hand trailed across her back, her body rocked with his.

Each touch electrifying as if he wanted to devour her, and she found herself in a trance-like state. Is this what I’ve been missing? Krista ran her hand across his bicep and felt woozy. The warmth of his body raising her level of arousal. Here in the middle of an office, she found a longing like no other, and everything seemed right. Lust took control of her senses, and she let herself go with it. With each kiss he brought cradled her in his arms, his embrace warm and protective like a warrior of love. How did this happen? Had she found the man she was destined for or was it all a dream?

As if that wasn’t enough teasing….here is the awesome cover for Night Magic….

Book Review

rapneAre you looking for a story that will allow you to escape for a couple of hours and share the troubles of two people while they seek their HEA? Let me recommend Rapunzel – Demon Tales 4 by Kerrianne Coombes.

At the time I read Rapunzel, I hadn’t read the other three books in the series. While the characters from the previous books were mentioned, this is very much a stand-alone. Warning: It will make you want to go back to read the other three.

Promises were just words—cruel, painful utterings to make the speaker feel better.

“Everyone breaks promises,” Chloe said with more venom in her tone than she thought she could muster.

“I don’t break mine…” (Blane’s reply).

This is the character bases of the book. Kerrianne Coombes does an excellent job with character growth in Rapunzel. Chloe’s growth as she comes to realize that her view on promises is not true is amazing and how she comes to realize her own personal worth very believable. Blane’s character has more of an internal growth – he has demons so to speak 😉 (He is a demon) and has to make peace with those before he can commit to Chloe even though they are mates. Their road to a HEA is one filled with missing bridges over bottomless ravines.

The pace is excellent. At times I forgot the bag of M&M’s I had sitting next to me I became so involved in Chloe and Blane. Rapunzel is a unique twist on the fairytale and more than enjoyable read.

Rapunzel – Demon Tales 4 is available at

Kerrianne Coombes

I’m excited to have Kerrianne on my blog today . She has a great new cover for a new release coming up.

Thanks so much for having me Lyncee!

I am here to share my new cover for the next release in the Demon Tale series.

Sleeping Beauty and the Damned Demon Is book number 5. This story is focusing on Rhand and Selma.

The pair are brought together by fate and treated to the rockiest start. 😉 But Rhand is pretty determined and Selma finds herself falling for the demon she is supposed to hate.

I love this pair. Their story is so dark and full of twists that, at times, I wondered if they were just doomed! Nothing seems to go their way, everything is against them and past lives threaten to halt the love before it even has a chance to grow.

They say the strongest love is forged in the hottest fire, and I think that saying is very fitting for this pair.

I hope you like their story as much as I do.

Sleeping Beauty and the Damned Demon is out in October.

A witch’s trickery stole the key to Rhand’s happiness and peace. Alone, bitter and determined Rhand searches for what was taken from him. Ruthless beyond measure, nothing and no one will get in the way of his fulfilling his promise to his people… until he meets a sleeping beauty.

Selma is wasting away, starved of light, love and happiness. Locked in a human insane asylum, Selma is cursed; sleep steals most of her life and when she awakens the nightmares truly begin. She has given up all hope of escaping… until a dark stranger, with frightening eyes, secrets her away in the night.

Dark Magic, demonic lands and violent battles inhabit the world where he takes her, but nothing compares to the power of the love between Rhand and his Sleeping Beauty.

Author Guest Thursday

Today, I’m excited to have Taryn Kincaid on my blog.  A little bit about Taryn (besides she is an AWESOME author)

Taryn is an Olympic caliber athlete egg roller and spends a great deal of her time petitioning the U.S.O.C. to introduce a fantail shrimp competition. When she’s not bungee jumping off the Palisades or parasailing up and down the Hudson River, she devotes her time to caring for her aging pet walrus, arranging her voodoo doll-pin collection and practicing rhythmic chants. At this moment, she is busy sweeping up the loose masala chai tea leaves she spilled all over the kitchen floor. (Probably because she needs COFFEE.) Wait. Is that something…sparkly?

Taryn hangs around a lot on Facebook and Twitter with her trillions of fans and pops in at Goodreads from time to time. You can catch her on her website,, and her blog, where she lives for comments!

Today she is sharing an excerpt from Heat Wave (umm just the cover is a heat rush 😉

Heat-Wave-300x450Sent into the human realm to retrieve prodigal princess, Zena Night, Bhyrne Raines is shocked and unprepared for his carnal reaction to the sexy succubus. In service to the succubus queen, the rugged enforcer must stifle the instant passion exploding within him. Fulfilling his royal duty doesn’t allow for quickie dalliances. His biological clock is ticking, and he begins to enter breedspawn, an intense and unstoppable frenzy of mating all fire-demon males must endure. But the more he wants to avoid Zena, the more he’s drawn to her.

Reluctant to give up her carefree life of partying among the mortals when the hot-as-sin Bhyrne comes to fetch her for the queen, Zena uses her succubus wiles to entice him, or at least delay the inevitable trip to the royal court. Once in the demon stronghold, hidden deep within the Catskill mountains, she learns the reason for the summons: she must choose a consort within two days.

Zena needs a mate. Bhyrne needs to mate. With time running out for both of them, they each turn to 1Night Stand. With time running out, can Madame Eve come to the rescue?

Holy freeze gun, Batman. The words died before she managed to expose them to air. Her mouth snapped shut.

One of the Queen’s guards stood before her, huge and tall, nearly twice the size of most of the other males in the joint, a hella hunka supernatural male. Clearly not human, although Hugo Boss’d to his Adam’s apple in an apparent bid to fit in among the humans trolling for hot sex, illicit drugs, watered-down booze and loud music. Beneath the fabric of the unstructured designer suit, the toned muscles of a demonic warrior rolled like tidal waves. Even without the small lapel pin the uninformed might mistake for the The Rolling Stones’ logo, she’d recognize him for a captain of the guard. Maybe the Queen’s own Captain.

Hellfire and cotton candy. Trouble. T-R-O-U-B-L-E.

But, by the goddess, whattahottie! Despite her certainty that his presence in the club corridor boded ill for her, the force of her sudden hunger shook her.

Like lightning.

A desperate bolt out of the blue.

Instant connection to him on the paranormal plane, as if he’d wrapped her aura in gold chains and tugged her to him. But did that fast lane to heaven run one way or two?

A grim expression straightened the lines of what otherwise might have been a generous, sensuous mouth. A military buzz cut had weed-whacked hair the color of iron. And it didn’t stop there. Without doubt, metal fortified every single cell in the massive male’s body, pure titanium flowing in his veins. The stern planes and angles of a hard-edged, swoon-worthy face set grimly as cement. Though he lounged in the hallway like any Archie or Jughead waiting in line to discharge his rented beer in a urinal, he exuded authority, his carriage and bearing such that he made the others look like a pack of Twizzlers. Oh. Yeah. More than a mere guardsman, she guessed. An enforcer.
