It’s a bit foggy…
Last week I featured a charming little park in the middle of downtown where I live. It has lovely flowers, soothing fountains, red brick paths, and a charming gazebo. A place for romance – or – murder :-O
This week, I’m going to share a few other local things that spark my muse.
Welcome to my neighborhood….
Where there are ….
Things that go nowhere…
Things that lurk in the fog…
Things abandoned in the woods…
And a red waterfall….
What do you see in my neighborhood, I’d love to hear
As a writer, I’m always clicking pictures of places I could use in one of stories and … not always in the way you would expect. For example…
She makes her way to the gazebo. She smiles thinking she’s like a princess with her own private garden….only instead of Prince Charming waiting for her, there is a killer. One who grooms the garden to lure his victims in. She’s a fly in his spider web.
I love this park…the beauty, the contrast of the business city around it, but I can’t help but think a serial killer would love it to 😉 I’ve made places we go into book settings so often, my hubby will now ask, ‘Is someone dying here or having great sex?’ Because with me it could go either way 😀
Have you ever been somewhere and have an unexpected way to use the setting hit you?
Welcome to Tourist Tuesday where I highlight the wonders of MY world… in less than a 15 mile radius I can enjoy all of these….
I believe everyone should take time out to play tourist in their own backyard. You may be surprised what you will find 😉 I’d love to hear if you have any discoveries you’d like to share
These were taken last summer at one of my favorite ‘escape’ places. It’s a little mostly forgotten park about five miles from my house. Nothing like tons of wild flowers, animals, birds, and butterflies to spark murderous thoughts 😉
Something like this….Chloe stood at the trails edge. she should be admiring the deep green foliage, pastel purple flowers, and the vibrate orange wings of the butterfly but instead she stared at the lifeless body submerged in the undergrowth.
Where are some of your favorite escapes?
This tourist Tuesday is 2 pictures to spark a writer’s muse…. what the end?
I’d love to hear any captions or muse wanderings these pictures spark
Pictures by a backyard tourist….I’ve always wanted to travel – still do – but I’ve also come to appreciate the beauty and wonder in my own backyard.
This week’s backyard tourist picture was taken APRIL 2!!!!!! Crazy I know but mother nature is clearly having issues and I’m trying to be supportive… by featuring her craziness in it’s beauty.
I like this picture for several reason – the stressed out over worked side of me loves the stillness, the solitude. It’s the same solitude that has my writer side vibrating with possibilities…. The way the trees provide a frame but who is looking???? A killer scoping out a dumping spot??? A lover waiting for her/his partner??? Or is the frame a portal into some frozen world???? My writer side is very complex 😉
I’d love to hear your thoughts on the picture and please feel free to share in favorite backyard tourist shots you may have
