Love this!!!

Horror filled him as her intention registered. He cursed, as he rushed to close the distance between them. Quetin had been clear, Emma needed to be alive.

His stomach rolled as he watched the leopard glided through the air and fall from sight. He stood on the overhang, looking down at the dark pool of water. The moss was spongy under the pads of his paws as he waited for her broken body to surface. But the pond’s surface remained smooth.

Jackson snarled and flicked his tail as he considered jumping in after her. Impatiently, he paced along the outcropping, trying to locate a path down. He lifted his nose to sniff the air for her scent. When he could locate neither a path nor her smell, the growl changed to curses as Jackson shifted back to human form.

“Son-of-a-bitch.” He ran both hands through his cropped hair. Again, he surveyed the surface of the pool. In the star light, Jackson’s reflection stared back at him, taunting him, mocking him for his failure.

Pirates… magic…and a tiger…

Welcome!!!!

I hope you have enjoyed the book hooks so far 🙂 This week my hook comes from my paranormal pirate romance – Treasure Hunt…. There’s a female pirate, her tiger (who is capable of magic), and a hot treasure hunter…

Hook:

DeLaney kept the wide wooden table between them. While she didn’t doubt either man’s loyalty, she also knew them to be what they were. Men of fortune. She forced her body to take a stance of ease and willed her hands to remain steady.

“Feel free to speak. You both know I welcome your counsel.”

“There are two things we need to bring to your attention.” Adaih moved so he stood against the wall and slid down so his weight rested on his heels. It always amazed DeLaney that a man of his size could find comfort in such a position. “Tell the Captain what you felt tonight, Blink.”

The short man hovered across the table from her. He ran a hand over his hairless skull. “I was in the bird’s nest. Something about the fog seemed unnatural.”

“It is Ghost Whisper Harbor,” DeLaney pointed out, but she knew Blink would never be put at unease by a few restless spirits.

“Yes, Captain. But it was more. Tonight’s fog carried the weight of evil.” He shifted and focused his purple eyes on DeLaney. “Something was hunting for you. That is why I sent Esmeralda into town looking for you.”

“I had a run-in with Falken. Before Esmeralda could dine on him, he disappeared.”

“He outran her?” Adaih asked.

“No.” DeLaney turned to meet his gaze. “He vanished into thin air.”

Blink made an odd noise which she knew to be a grunt of disgust. “He dabbles in things his mind is too small to understand and his spirit is too weak to resist.”

Blurb:

DeLaney Black Heart is the captain of The Gypsy Princess, the most feared pirate ship on the Cannequ seas, until recently. Her long standing enemy, Falken Sands, is making good on his threat to ruin her. She is in desperate need of a large bounty to soothe her crew and reclaim her title.

Raven Kinsley is a treasure hunter. He offers DeLaney the chance to redeem herself. Only their history is stopping DeLaney from jumping on the offer. Raven abandoned her a year earlier and disappeared.

Left with no other choice, DeLaney agrees to Raven’s commission. They begin their journey to claim the lost treasure of Midas, but soon trouble surrounds them. Raven and DeLaney combine forces to battle gryphons, the possessed Falken Sands, and other creatures.

DeLaney tries to convince herself what she feels for Raven is born out of battle, not love. Raven knows he loves DeLaney, but until an old enemy is beaten, he can’t make his claim on her heart.

As secrets are revealed, they realize this is more than a mere treasure hunt. It’s a battle for their lives.

Listifylife Monday

This week’s listifylife is favorite beach reads. I know most people like to read fiction/romance/fantasy or something along those lines at the beach. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good steamy romance suspense to read while basking in the sun in total relaxation mode but I also use the summer to read non-fiction. During the ‘school’ season (my life has two seasons – school and non-school/summer), all my brain cells are consumed by the crazy day job and my writing, I don’t do non-fiction justice. This is the reason my beach reads include non-fiction…
If you follow my blog you know I’m reading my way through the alphabet this year so each month I select 8 to 10 books from authors whose last name start with these letters. This month I’m reading authors whose last name start with P,Q, and R. I’ll post that to read list later this week.

2016 Top 5 Beach Reads List
1. The Fallen Angel series by JR Ward (On the 4th book now…) I’m a little slow finding this series but it was my summer fav
2. The Aeronuat’s Windlass by Jim Butcher — wow – just wow.
3. Living Well on Less by – Ruth Soukup – As my golden years are rapidly approaching books with a financial spin have become much more interesting. She deals with determining the internal drive of purchasing unneeded wants.
4. The Circle Trilogy by Nora Roberts
5. Fire Heaven Trilogy by Russell Kirkpatrick
6. The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
7. The Hollows (first 3 books) by Angela Kulig
8. How to beat your procrastination – by William Harris
9. Illusion Town by Jayne Castle
10. Joyelyn Glei’s 3 book series – on time management and allowing creativity to bloom in a non-creative work place.

What were some of your favorite beach reads this year? I still have two weeks left before I have to go back to the crazy day job.

Drum Rollllllll….

I’m so excited to do a cover reveal for my good friend Kerrianne. And it’s for one of my favorite books of hers!

A word from Kerrianne ….

I did this because I felt they needed a polish, and I believe a new era, needs a new look!

My writing has grown and evolved since I first wrote Beauty and the Beast 7 years ago, and I wanted to breathe some fresh air into their stories. So, while you may not see all characters you once read about yet – you will, but they will have fresh books! (All coming soon)

Thank you for waiting so patiently for the Demons to return. I will be eternally grateful to all who read the original series. I hope you enjoy my changes.

If you are a new reader, Hi! 😉

My Demon Tales are sexy, dark and twisted versions of recognizable fairy tales. They are full of action, intrigue and HOT SEXY males. My females are strong and forceful – not meek and defenseless. And I hope you learn to love them as much as I do.

I hope you enjoy Deadly Slumber.

Much love.

Hump Day Hook

WELCOME

WELCOME

First, last weeks winner of the dry erase board and markers swag for Taking A Risk is Cathy Brockman.

This week’s hook is from my Boys of Summer – Spike… In this hook Rae is questioning her sanity…

“I’m going to the beer cooler,” Rae muttered to Tara as she walked pass the girl.
“The wells are full,” Tara said.
“I need to take inventory.” She snarled spinning on her heels and marching into the fridge room. What the hell was the matter with her? A three-way with Brody and Treyvon? Like that would happen, she and Brody been teenagers the last time they had sex and two minutes of foreplay pushed the envelope back then. Besides she’d never been in a three-way. Why would she fantasy about it now?

Ummm… why would she (wink wink)…

Thanks for stopping by 🙂 All the great Hump Day Hooks can be found here ~ http://humpdayhook.blogspot.co.uk/
